Kyoto Gyoen

Kyoto Gyoen occurs a vast area of 65 acres, the most famous red leaves point is at Sento Imperial Palace. You have to reserve for entering but you can still get the tickets on-site if not fully booked. As a limitation for visitors, suggest visiting here at your earliest possibility. There is also a “Haha-to-Ko-no-Mori Forest”(mother and son’s forest), another place for assorted autumn leaves that worth a go.

Nashinoki Shrine

It is just aside of Kyoto Gyoen, a place well known for “Hagi”(Lespedeza bicolor). But red leaves are also beautiful around the pilgrimage’s path and the hall.

This is a temple not that famous, so it is good for quiet sightseeing. Red leaves mostly are at the side of main hall Mieido

Rozan-ji Temple

It was rebuilt from the home of Murasaki Shikibu, a female literate in Heian period. A garden named Minamoto Garden with red leaves on the walls.
Opening hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm Fee: 500Yen for high school, 400Yen for secondary school, free for below primary school (Possible to change for the special exhibition)

Yoshida-Jinja Shrine

Mo-an is a famous coffee shops nearby Yoshidayama. Although a lot of people will come for coffee at Setsubun (seasonal division). There is still an easy feeling at general days. Have to remind to visit Takenaka Inari Shrine as around there are good sights for autumn foliage.

Munetada Shrine

At the south of Yoshidayama, there is a special stone statue of reversed standing lion of Bizen-ware (Japanese pottery). Red leaves in front of the main hall are very famous for tourists.

Places around Shinnyodo Temple, 3-storeyed pagoda and the stone stairs to the main hall are very good for red leaves views. Behind the main hall, views of red leaves on the ground will be visible in early December.

Konkaikomyo-ji Temple

A special name “Kuro Tani-san”was given for here. Places around main door and Shiun Garden are good for red leaves views. The Tatchu sub-temple Eisho-in will be open to public in red leaves period. It is not a famous place for red leaves sights, but a well-known place for sunset view in Kyoto. You can come in evening time. A Buddha statue with Afro-hair style is very interesting.
